Kate Niehaus traveled to Greenville for the chance to prepare for Nike Outdoor Nationals with a 3200-meter run at the Greenville Track Club all-comers meet, held at Furman University Wednesday.
Brad Orr (Wren/Winthrop) and Stephen Dickey (Hanna/The Citadel) paced Niehaus to an unofficial time of 10:28.
Niehaus ran a 10:31.45 3200 at this past season\'s Taco Bell Classic and Niehaus holds the state record of 10:47.72 since 2005. At the 2006 state meet, Niehaus crossed the line in 10:48.29.
Niehaus\' high school coach at Spring Valley Kevin Shaw mentioned Niehaus is focusing on the 5,000-meter event at Junior Nationals.
