Track Extravaganza elite mile coordinator announces three new commitments

 

"It is my pleasure to answer the following athletes have committed to the Furman Invitational Blue Shoes Elite Mile," said coordinator Mickey McCauley.

 

"Dan Wilson was a four-time Big East champion and five-time All American at the University of Connecticut, has recorded times of under 4 minutes in the indoor and outdoors, has a personal best of 3:38:5 for the 1500-meters. Dan ran 4:01 for the mile at the 2007 NB indoor Invite at the NYC Armory. Dan lives in Washington, DC and is training with Coach Matt Centrowitz.

 

Thomas Morgan, a graduate of the University of Kentucky runs for Zap Fitness. In addition to some strong road racing in 2006 (7th at US 10k champs), Morgan lowered his 1,500m best twice (3:40.4), his 3,000m best twice and his 5,000m as well as running a Zap club record 13:40.5 at Heusden, Belgium in July. Thomas ran 4:03 in the 2007 Tyson Invitational indoor mile.

 

Brendan O'Keefe is a 2004 graduate of Ivy League School Brown University had an exceptionable 2006 season with 1,500m races of 3:45 / 3:43, and finally 3:42.5. Brendan runs for Zap Fitness in Blowing Rock, N.C.

 

The field is shaping up to be a very competitive group that is capable of providing a great mile race Saturday, April 7."
