Notre Dame graduate Luke Watson has joined the Furman Invitational elite mile field, elite coordinator Mickey McCauley announced Saturday evening.
"I am excited to be able to add Luke Watson to the Furman Invitational Elite Mile," said McCauley. "Luck runs for adidas and is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. At Notre Dame, he was an eight-time All-American, a six-time Big East Champion, and holder of five school records. Luck has personal best times in the following events; Mile 3:57.83 3000m: 7:49.56 5000m: 13:38.73 steepchase: 8:36.12.
McCauley concluded, "In conversations with elite athlete coaches, athletes and agents last week at this time all are healthy, training well and looking forward to coming to Greenville."
Thirteen athletes now make up the field for the elite mile, which is scheduled for 2 p.m. on April 7.
