Track Extravaganza weekend: April 6-7


Furman University is hosting the Track Extravaganza weekend starting Friday evening and concludes Saturday with a college meet.

Schedule of events
Friday (Hyatt Regency Greenville)
5 p.m.: "Smart Training for the Long Run," by Furman Institute of Running and Scientific Training.
6:30 p.m.: Dave Wottle Dinner sponsored by Greenville Hospital System. Olympic champion Dave Wottle will speak on "The Winning Attitude" and reflect on his 1972 Olympic experience. He will show the original ABC Sports film of his winning 800-meter race narrated by Jim McKay and Marty Liquori. Silent Auction to follow. More details can be found on official Web site.

Saturday
8 a.m.: Furman Invitational (high school)
9 a.m.: Furman Corporate Shield 5K Run sponsored by New Balance
12:30 p.m: Blue Shoes Mile Run (open mile run for any age and pace, $20 registration fee)
2 p.m.: ASICS Blue Shoes Elite Mile
2:30 p.m.: Furman Invitational (college)
