SCTCCCA summer meetings start today

Members of the South Carolina Track and Cross Country Association meet today and tomorrow in Greenville as part of the SCACA Clinic to discuss the upcoming cross country season and track and field. 

Eric Cummings, current president, will introduce the new officers with David Lee taking the role of president of the association.

Furman coach Robert Gary is today's scheduled speaker for cross country. Gary's topics include off-season training for the distance athlete, weight and core workouts for the distance athlete and in-season training. The business meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Gary is scheduled to speak at 1 p.m.

Wednesday's meetings start at 8 a.m. when officers are scheduled to meet. Starting at 9 a.m. S.C. State's coach Jarred Boan will speak on rotational shot put, teaching discus, going to the next level. At 1 p.m. the SCHSL has scheduled a mandatory track rules meeting and the association will again meet at 2 p.m.
