  • Did you know?: S.C.S.D.B. Eye Opener
  • SCTCCCA Coaches Classic began as Carolina Classic, started by Mike Mauldin. The meet was held at Irmo Middle School athletic fields. 
  • Mike Moore (Irmo) took over the meet in 1983 and the meet moved to Seven Oaks Park for one year due to fence placement at the middle school. 
  • Moore served as an officer of the association at this time and the organization needed a fundraiser, according to Moore. 
  • Moore suggests to association take over the meet as it was growing and needed more space. 
  • Moore made contact with a Fort Jackson representative to use Hilton Field. 
  • After 9/11 John Jones (Spring Valley) worked to get Clemson Sandhills Research Facility because of identification requirements at Fort Jackson. 
  • 2004: Coaches Classic and state meets meets move back to Sandhills after tornado causes damage at Fort Jackson a week before the meet. The meet was moved to Sandhills in 2001 because of 9/11. 
  • May 1, 2013: SCTCCCA meets renamed Bob Jenkins' Coaches Classic
