Combined $1225 raised for Kwabene Brown

Update (July 7): USATF-S.C. announced Saturday afternoon the organization has received donations totaling $725 for the KB Brown fund.

Combined $1125 raised for Kwabene Brown (July 5)
Last Saturday's KB Brown benefit meet, hosted by Redemption Warriors and Seneca Blazers, at Greenville High School raised $500 and the USATF-SC organization has received $625 in donations to date, according to an e-mail sent by USATF-S.C. Thursday evening.

Brown update
Quick Striders President Richard Kerns spoke to Brown's wife last Sunday, according to an e-mail from USATF-S.C. Emory University Hospital in Atlanta has done four or five operations now. The e-mail also mentioned Brown is now off the respirator, but still is being fed by tubes. It also mentioned he has movement on both sides, but only opens one eye (at this point). If he keeps improving therapy is scheduled to start next week.

Brown remains in intensive care and heavily sedated. When hospital employees were going to remove the respirator his wife went to leave the room and Brown put up a finger to call her back to room - this was a very good sign, the e-mail stated. Brown's wife said that she knows once they let him do therapy he will improve in leaps and bounds as he will want to get out of there as fast as he can.
