In one of the best outdoor track & field meets that you will find in the entire Southeast every spring, the Elizabeth Seton girls were able to claim the team title at the 2016 Taco Bell Classic facing top programs from Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, and more states along with some of their top competition from right here in Maryland.

Over the two day competition at Spring Valley High School, the Elizabeth Seton girls were able to amass a total of 33 points to edge out the likes of Virginia powerhouse Nansemond River (30.50 pts) as well as another stout Maryland squad in Bullis (29 pts).
One of the top performances in the meet by the Seton girls came in the 4x100 meter relay as they finished as a narrow runners-up in state leading season best time of 47.29 (US #38). Their 4x400 meter relay also took second place with a season best time of 3:54.60 behind the state leaders of Bullis (3:51.79) for a 1-2 Maryland state finish in the final event of the Taco Bell Classic.
Jacqueline Simmons and Lauren Morgan both made the finals of the 100 and 200 meter dash scoring points respectively with season best times of 12.32 for 6th place by Simmons in the 100, while Morgan clocked a 24.63 season best in the prelims before finishing 6th in the finals at 25.02.
Runner-up in the girls 200 meter dash finals after running a MD #1 24.15 PR in the prelims on Friday was Riverdale Baptist's Stephanie Davis and she went 24.39 for second in the finals on Saturday.

Riverdale Baptist teammate Taylor Woods placed fourth in the long jump finals at 18-0.50" with Elizabeth Seton having two scorers in the even between Jacqueline Simmons (3rd, 18'1") and Nina Crawford (6th, 17'10.50"). Not much separation in distance among three jumpers from Maryland competing in South Carolina this weekend.
Bullis School had a handful of top 6 finishers among their boys and girls at the Taco Bell Classic. Beyond their girls 4x400 victory, the Bullis boys put down a solid time themselves in the 4x400 at 3:27.75 for fourth place. Austin Allen popped a nice mark as well in the long jump at 22'6.50" for third place in the event.
Bullis junior Alexis Postell had one of the best Maryland individual performances of the meet as she clocked a lifetime best of 14.54 to finish runner-up in the 100 meter hurdles finals behind only national class hurdler Anna Cockrell from North Carolina.
Meanwhile, a freshmen for Bullis in Sierra Leonard chopped several seconds off her PR in the 400 to finish fifth overall in the event with a time of 56.96. The performance ranks her just outside of the top 10 among all freshmen in the nation.
