Brian Herron Is One Of Fastest-Ever 15-Year-Olds



Brian Herron of Lakeside High School in Dekalb County, Ga. clocked 46.29 over 400m to win the USATF Region 4 Junior Olympics this weekend in Spartanburg, S.C.

Herron's time is the second-quickest ever recorded for an American 15-year-old boy. Josephus Lyles of T.C. Williams, Va. owns the national age group record at 46.23.

The national freshman class record belongs to Tyrese Cooper of Florida, who went sub-46 several times this year including his PB 45.69. His PB at age 15 was 46.44.
