Spring Valley coach John Jones and Westside coach Kwabene Brown will receive special awards during Nike Outdoor Nationals in Greensboro, N.C., National Scholastic Sports Foundation representative John Blackburn told scrunners.com Friday afternoon.
"They will each be receiving special awards at the Nike Outdoor Nationals," said Blackburn. "(It is) great for the state to have such valuable resources."
Jones will be awarded as the Honorary Referee. Brown will receive the NSSF Rising Star coach award.
Randy Waggoner (Trotwood, Ohio) will receive the Mike Byrnes Coach of the Year award.
The meet starts June 19 and ends June 21 on the campus of North Carolina A&T University.
