What does it mean to be named to the Shrine Bowl Run team and helping the hospital?
Being selected to the team means a lot to me. To be able to participate and help the hospital is great, because the hospital is extremely helpful towards several kids and the employees there make the children feel at home while staying there.

What did you hear about the Shrine Bowl Run before this year?

I've known a few teammates who have participated in the run in the past and I've heard nothing but great things.

What do you hope to experience during the event?

I look forward to meeting other people from other teams and also having a good time with my other teammates there.

How are you preparing to run with a football?
I haven't really thought about. Hopefully I'll be alright.

How would you rate your senior season?
I was very happy with the way the season turned out. During the summer our best runner (Wynn) got hurt and we learned that it was likely he wouldn't be able to run for a while, but the way we responded was a true testament to the character of the people on our team. So I thought it was the best team effort we've had since I've ran.

What future goals do you have?
I have lots of goals for myself ranging from my hobbies, academics, and athletic interests.

Have you made the decision to compete at the next level? Please explain.
Yes I have. I will be attending Spartanburg Methodist and running there.

How did you get involved with the sport and when?
I got involved in the sport at the end of seventh grade, because my older sister decided she was going to run and I thought I'd give it a try and ended up loving it.

Do you have any relation or know someone that has attended the Shriners Hospital?
My little sister actually goes there so I am extremely grateful for the hospital. While there they always make the patient their number one priority. Every time she comes home after going there she always has stuffed animals and blankets with her that they have given her and the doctors and nurses there are all extremely friendly.

How have you seen the sport change in the state? Please explain.
I've seen it get faster. From the time I started to now the level of competition has truly gone up. It really shows that completion brings out the best of people.

What was your motivation for your final XC season?

Well it was my last one in high school. That alone pushed me every summer morning, because it's your last chance. I didn't want to sit there after the season and think I could have done a little more, so I made sure I gave it everything this season.

If there is one thing in the world you could do, what would it be and why?
I would love to just travel around the world. I feel like that'd be pretty fun.
