What does it mean to be named to the Shrine Bowl Run team and helping the hospital?

It is an honor to be able to be a part of something positive.

What did you hear about the Shrine Bowl Run before this year?
I had heard of the Shrine Bowl but I had never heard of the Shrine Bowl Run before.

What do you hope to experience during the event?
I hope to meet other runners with similar interests and learn more about the Shrine Bowl Run.

How are you preparing to run with a football?
I am practicing some of my runs with a football.

How would you rate your senior season?
I only started running cross country last year and realized what a great sport it is.  My senior season was a great season.  I was able to be a part of a team that worked and trained hard.  We were able to make it to State for the first time in over 10 years and place fifth in the state.

What future goals do you have?
My future goals are to attend College of Charleston and major in accounting and political science.  After graduating I plan to go on to law school.

Have you made the decision to compete at the next level? Please explain.
Since I am planning to double major I do not plan on running in college.  I do plan on joining the rowing club at College of Charleston and continue to lift weights and stay in shape.  I would like to run and complete in some events like the Spartan Run.

How did you get involved with the sport and when?
My junior year I was encouraged by my sister and some other friends to try out for my high school's cross country team.  I had never really tried running before.

How have you seen the sport change in the state? Please explain.
I really wouldn't know since I knew nothing about cross country until last year.

What was your motivation for your final XC season?
We were so close to making it to state last season.  My motivation this year was to train hard with my team and get to state.

If there is one thing in the world you could do, what would it be and why?

If there was one thing in the world I could do it would be to get involved in politics because I would like to be able to make positive changes in the way our government and country runs.
