The girls 3000m race came down to the wire between middle school sensations Ani Veltcheva, and Lily Henne. With a little more than a lap to go Henne was 20 meters behind Veltcheva. As the duo hit the bell lap Henne started to close the gap. With 150m to go Henne was shoulder to shoulder with Veltcheva, battling down the home stretch. In the end, Veltcheva would walk away with the win, and
