Former Ninety-Six, Emerald coach Goode announced as SCTCCCA HOF inductee

Ex-Ninety-Six and Emerald coach Zeke Goode was announced earlier today as the South Carolina Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee at the association's meeting at Dreher High School in Columbia. 

Spring Valley coach John Jones made the announcement. 

Goode coached for 26 years between the two schools.

Fastest state meet runners were also recognized today. Fort Mill's Mark Blackmon and Seneca's Tameka Jackson received trophies by the SCTCCCA.

The following were announced as cross country coaches of the year:

Class A boys -- Jeremy Darby (Landrum)
Class A/AA girls -- Rodney Adamee (Christ Church)
Class AA boys -- Tony Colizzi (Bishop England)
Class AAA girls -- Bill Wrightston (Hilton Head)
Class AAA boys -- Rick Zeller (Wade Hampton)
Class AAAA girls -- Stephanie Young (Spartanburg)
Class AAAA boys -- Jeff Buys (Dorman)

The assistant cross country coach of the year that will be honored in the association's July meeting is Heather Greene of Riverside.

Also honored at the meeting was 2008 assistant track and field coach Brian Squibbs of South Pointe. 

Other topics discussed at the meeting included indoor sanctioning and how this relates to in-state athletes with out-of-state meets, the practice rule with one coach per three athletes and moving to 11 athletes per one coach during the offseason.
