Recap: Fast Weekend for South Carolina Runners




The
Starlight Reservation Run was held on Friday night at Riverside. Defending 5A champion Riverside took the Elite Girls team title with a 42-95 victory against Region II rival Dorman. The Warriors' Jessie Crowley (S.C. no. 2) earned individual medalist with a time of 18.40.39. Mauldin's Macey Morgan (S.C. no. 4) was runner-up finishing at 19:13.48. J.L. Mann placed third with 143 points. Mauldin (153) was fourth, followed by Walhalla (180). 

Boiling Springs' Kade Gosnell (S.C. No. 5) won individual medalist in the Elite Boys race with at time of 16:05.03. Eastside's Noah White was runner-up with a finishing time of 16:17.15. 

Eastside took the team title with a 67-77 win against
St. Joseph's. Hillcrest (118) was third, followed by Dorman (132) and Wade Hampton (172). 



Pendleton took the top two spots in the Checker Boys event. Dane Dickson grabbed individual medalist by crossing the finish line at 16:53.61, while Ronan O'Neill was runner-up at 17:05.47. 

Riverside topped Landrum 67-102 to take the team title. Christ Church (107) was third, followed by Southside (114) and Pendleton (131). 

Spartanburg Christian's Molly Suttle finished first with at time of 20:18.84 in the Checker Girls race. Upstate Bearcats' Maura Baird (20:56.14) was runner-up.

Riverside defeated Pendleton 44-75 to take the team championship.
Blue Ridge (86) placed third, while Spartanburg Christian Academy (97) was fourth, and Christ Church (150) was fifth. 

Daniel's Mari Cagle Lockhart (S.C. no. 1) placed fifth with a time of 18:37.4 in the Championship Girls race on Saturday at the Wingfoot XC Classic at Sam Smith Park in Cartersville, Ga. The Lions finished 23rd in the team standings.

Daniel's boys placed third in the Championship Boys event. The Lions'
Alex Zangara (16:44.4) was individual runner-up, while teammate Mismeh Balawi (16:54.5) finished third. 

Wren's boys earned the varsity team title at its host event, the Hurricane Invitational, with a 24-36 victory against Seneca. New Covenant (75) placed third.

Wren's
Seth Sharpe finished as individual medalist with a time of 17:14.00. Seneca's Sam Dodd (17:58.00) was runner-up. 

Seneca's
Carson Towe (19:20.00) placed first in the varsity girls race. Wren's Elise Matthews (19:41.00) finished as runner-up. The Bobcats downed Wren 25-32 to take the team title. 

At the Beaufort County meet, May Rivers'
Emma Peluso earned individual medalist in the varsity girls race with a time of 20:09.68. Beaufort's Shannon Smith was second by finishing at 20:12.35. Beaufort's Marlon Beldon took the varsity boys race with a time of 16:39.63. Bluffton's Armando Jimenez placed second (17:16.93). 

Bishop England was on top both individually and team-wise in the varsity boys events at the Pee Dee Classic in Florence. Sam Boykin was medalist with a time of 16:45.00. He was followed by West Florence's Patrick Morgan (17:06). 

The Bishops downed A.C. Flora 29-76 in the team standings. West Florence (128) finished third, while South Florence (138) was fourth and Wilson (143) placed fifth.
 

A.C. Flora's
Pippa Richter won the varsity girls race by finishing at 19:46.00. Hartsville's Kaiti Nutt was second at 20:12.00. Waccamaw downed A.C. Flora 26-64 to claim the team title. Bishop England (83), Oceanside Collegiate Academy (107) and Wilson (167) placed third through fifth. 

A.C. Flora's
Jeet Patel won medalist in the open boys race with a time of 19:41. The Bishops edged A.C. Flora 28-29 to earn the team title. 

Waccamaw's
Maris Jennings (22:33) and Claire Fico (22:44) were medalist and runner-up, respectively, in the open girls race. Waccamaw claimed the top nine spots and 13 of the top 14 in the race to down A.C. Flora 15-66 in the team standings. 

Spartanburg's
John Bolinger won medalist crossing the finish line in 16:35.47 in the varsity boys race at the Lakelands Invitational in Greenwood. Laurens' Evan Prince was narrowly behind to finish as runner-up at 16:36.12. 

River Bluff topped Spartanburg 39-57 to grab the team title. Greenbrier (91) was third, followed by Aiken (157) and Dixie (157).
 

Aiken's 
Victoria Colon-LaBorde won the varsity girls race at 19:31.18. River Bluff's Madelyn Gomez was second at 20:05.55. 


River Bluff took the team title with a 42-67 decision against Greenbrier (Ga.). Palmetto was third with 116 points, followed by Spartanburg (165) and Hanahan (175). 

The
Low Country Invitational this weekend is part of the SCRUNNERS XC Series, presented by Go-Green Events.
