USC junior Chelsea Hammond was recently named United States Track Coaches Association National Athlete of the Week for NCAA D-I track and field.
Hammond captured the long jump title at the Clemson Orange and Purple Classic on May 8 with a leap of 21-6.25, breaking the school and Clemson facility record. Her leap also makes the Olympic Games "A" Standard. Hammond, currently the top long jumper in the U.S. will compete in the Jamaican Olympic Trials in June.
