Seven-time state champion Amberly Nesbitt has been named 2004 South Carolina Gatorade Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year. Nesbitt won the award for the second consecutive year. Nesbitt's season was cut short with a hamstring injury and stress fracture.
Nesbitt, a graduate of JL Mann High School will attend the University of South Carolina in the fall.
Mitch Greeley, a graduate of Northwestern High School in Rock Hill was named 2004 South Carolina Gatorade Boys Track and Field Athlete of the Year. Greeley will attend Clemson in the fall and leads the state with a season best vault of 16-09.00.
