Brian Knapp, a senior at Lees-McRae College qualified for the 800-meter run at the NCAA D-II Championships. The meet is scheduled for March 9-13 in Boston, MA.
Knapp, a native of Hilton Head Island earned his first indoor championship appearance with a win in his last chance meet at Clemson last weekend. Knapp ran a 1:53.26 in the 800, winning the race.
According to the Lees-McRae website after adjusting the time to fit on a banked 200-meter track he found himself with a 1:52.76.
Knapp\'s trip to Nationals on March 9 will be his third appearance as he went as a freshman on the cross-country team to Slippery Rock, PA and last spring Knapp qualified for the outdoor championships in Pomona, CA.
