Cross Country Will Compete At 2010 Charlotte Invitational

CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College men's and women's cross country teams are set to travel to Charlotte, N.C. for the 2010 Charlotte Invitational. This will be the first time the Blue Hose have traveled to this annual event.

Other schools scheduled to race are: Barton, Belmount Abbey, Charleston Southern, UNC Charlotte, Clemson, College of Charleston, Converse, Davidson, ETSU, Gardner-Webb, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Lees McRae, Limestone, Milligan, North Greenville, Savannah State, South Carolina, USC Beaufort, VMI, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Western Carolina, and Wofford.

The race will take place at the famous McAlpine Creek Regional Park course. Each year, the most talented high school runners in the nation travel to McAlpine Park to compete in the Wendy's Invitational or the Footlocker South Regional Championships. Several current Blue Hose runners have competed at the course and are eager to race the familiar course.

This will be the third consecutive race in as many weeks for the Blue Hose.  Senior Nicholas Baer has led the men's team all season, while freshman Alex Thomas has led the women's team.

The women's 5k will start at 4 p.m. followed by the men's race at 4:30 p.m. Awards are scheduled to follow immediately after the men's finish.
