First Annual State Championship
We are happy to announce that the ES/MS Club Cross Country Challenge State Championship is confirmed for Oct. 20, 2012 at the Clemson University / Sandhills Research Center; also the site of the South Carolina State High School Cross Country Championships.
“This is a big step forward for the program’’ says Stephens, Program Director “ To be able to compete at the same location as the State Championships will be an amazing experience for these kids”. “Hopefully this will add a little spice to the program and get kids out to see the High School State Championships as well. If we are going to grow athletes and interest in the sport, we felt it was a must to compete at the Sandhills.”
The first event will be the Elementary School Girls competing at 10 a.m. followed by the Elementary School boys at 10:30 a.m.. Both will run a 1 mile course. The Middle School Girls will follow at 11 a.m. with the Middle School Boys going off at 11:30 a.m. The Middle School athletes will run a 2 mile course.
Both courses will finish at the same finish as the High School State Championship course. The courses will follow much of the same State Championship course.

We are also changing the program to allow teams to sign up throughout the season. Being a new program, we want to provide the most opportunities as possible. Or goal is to get kids running!!
