Re: Woodward Invitational Track Meet

We would like to invite your girls and boys track teams to participate in the 24nd Annual Woodward Invitational Track Meet to be held on Saturday, April 21st at Heathwood Hall Episcopal School. We have an all-weather surface track, which has six lanes. The entry fee will be $80.00 for one team or $150 for both the girls and boys team. We will award medals to the first three finishers in each event. A championship and runner-up trophy will be given to the girls’ and boys’ teams, and the outstanding male and female performers will receive a plaque.

Entries will be done online this year using scrunners.com. Since the meet is not open to everyone, you will need to use the password track to register your team. List their best times, distances, or heights to date. Each participant can only compete in four events. Team will only be allowed one relay per event. Also, you will find and order of events for the day that will begin with a coaches’ scratch meeting at 9:00.

Meet reminders: only three (3) athletes per event; starting blocks will be provided; schools must provide their own poles, shots, and discus.

Entry deadline is Wednesday, April 18th.

We will need one coach from each team to help out with a field event. If there is a particular event that you would like to help with, please call or email me. If not, then you will be assigned an event.

Call me at 803-231-7706 or email: ocainj@heathwood.org with your acceptance of this invitation to compete in the 2010 Woodward Invitational. Checks should be made to Heathwood Hall, and mailed to Coach John O’Cain – Heathwood Hall – 3000 S. Beltline Blvd. – Columbia, S.C. 29201 at your earliest convenience. Please register teams no later than Wednesday, April 18th.

We look forward to a great track meet and hope to see you on April 21st.

                                                                                                    Sincerely,
