David Adams' 8:57 3,200 in 2000 Feb 27, 2018

By David AdamsThe goal for this race was to run 67-68 and see how everything unfolded late. I was unable to hear a single lap split because of the noise around the start/ finish line but I was clearly in the zone as almost every split was 68. This doesn't account for tenths and hundredths so my actual splits were likely between 67.xx and 69. I did not expect or remember having the lead that I establish, basically from the gun. Alan Webb later commented on my strong finish, some 15 years after the fact. He remembered my white half tights and closing speed, haha. The night before I ran the opening leg of our 3rd place finishing 4x800. Because I started the race and ran through the start/ finish before the exchange, I consider this a legit time. I ran 1:53:8 according to Coach Mayo. Almost 24 hours of recovery time helped leading up to the 3200.I do not remember the week of training leading up to this race the way that I remember the week before running 14:37. Neither performance was tapered for as they were not the ultimate goal for the season. However, I think we eased off just enough compared to a normal week that a great performance happened. I hope to have a few more races from my career available over the next few weeks. Sorry for the quality... be thankful that VHS and disposable cameras are not a part of your lives!David Adams: Winter Training ContinuedWhat will Your Winter Training Look Like?
