Mauldin High School hosted the second annual Stampede for Hope 5K Saturday, kicking off spirit week against rival Hillcrest. The event also consisted of a one-mile event. Wade Hampton sophomore Morgan Bateman won the event in 17 minutes, 34 seconds.  Mauldin senior Alyssa Kulik celebrated her 18th birthday Saturday with a win in 19 minutes, 28 seconds, her second consecutive for this event.
