There will be no entry fee for high schools due to the generous sponsorship of Sworn Plastics and Palmetto Surety.
High School teams must register online at www.sctrackworld.us. The anticipated operational date for this site is July 1. The registration deadline is 11:00 p.m. on August 29.
Teams that normally finish in the top 50% of the Eye Opener field are encouraged to enter the International Division. Other teams should enter the Championship Division. (Note – the International races are less crowded than the Championship races). Schools may enter different divisions for boys and girls varsity teams; but may only select one division per gender. Declarations are not necessary.
Plaques will be awarded to the first and second place teams in the International and Championship divisions. There will be no team awards for the Junior Varsity divisions. Technical shirts with “Eye Opener Top 10” will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in all races except the Junior Varsity divisions.
The Eye Opener is sanctioned by the National Federation of State High School Associations in SC, NC, TN and VA.
Technical T-shirts with the Eye Opener logo will be sold for $20.
Fleet Feet Sports has partnered with Nike and will offer an athlete lounge with great deals on racing shoes and running apparel.
Pictures will be taken and sold to Eye Opener participants by Carolina Snapshot (www.carolinasnapshot.com)
Teams are expected to bring their own fluids.

Note: The Spartanburg Courtyard offers a complimentary continental breakfast.
The B-tag timing system will be used this year. This system employs technology in which the timing chip is embedded within the athlete’s bib number. We must pay for each B-tag; it is important for coaches to keep their rosters current and to delete runners who will not compete on race day. (Note - coaches should not bring unused B-tags close to the finish line during any race).
