Congrats to the Varsity Girls on their runner-up finish at the Region Meet behind only Spartanburg. In a region filled with long-standing Cross Country tradition, LHS continues to forge its own tradition and build a legacy. In the Girls JV meet, LHS won, which is another oustanding accomplishment that helps build LHS XC.

We are asking all athletes and parents that's interested in bringing a indoor season to SC please contact our school principal, AD & coaches this week before they go to the Spring Confrence beginning on March 7th. We need to ask them to support and vote for the indoor season. Even if our school for whatever reason do not wish to support the season, we ask they would vote in favor to at least give other schools in SC the opportunity to host an indoor season. On a personal note, I have ran my student athletes the last two seasons during the indoor season and have seen the great improvement they are making on and off the track. Running in various states and competing at Clemson and USC meets to give them the access and experience of what other states schools provide. We finish the season either at one of the USATF or AAU national meets. It would be nice to try to qualify some SC athletes to qualify for New Balance Indoor (USATF) that could represent a SC school instead of as unattached athlete. Also look at the scholarships of track and field at our in state schools like Clemson and USC. They are mostly out of state student athletes signing with our in state colleges that have indoor track. Our student athletes can't compete with other states evev in our in state colleges. We are asking that parents and students contact our principal, AD and coaches to recommend that they vote to support a indoor track season in 2012-2013 season.

USATF will host dual indoor national track meets next weekend at New Balance in New York and the Jr. Olympics in Illinois. It's been a great indoor season with a very high competition level that will launch us into a well anticipated outdoor season.

Spring Valley's Coach John Jones is offering coaches and athletes A bus trip to New Balance Indoor Nationals at the Armory in New York City. New York. New York. He has put together a very nice price and package together for athletes and coaches trying to go to the next level. Information can be found on the front page for all interested coaches and athletes. These are the type of national meets that are heavily favored with most college recruiters.
