Florida Relays, FL

Highlights

  • Andres Arroyo (Colonial FL) lit up the stadium to get the Florida Relays off to a rocking start with a US#6 All-Time 1:47.79 clocking over 800 meters!! FloTrack reported it as the 6th fastest time in the WORLD and the fastest US time of the year for HS, College and Pro!
  • Daesha Rogers won the girls 800 meter run with a time of 2:11.69.
  • Darrielle McQueen won the long jump with a nice 19-6.5 clearance.
  • St. Thomas Aquinas rolled in the girls 4x400m relay with a US#1 clocking of 3:40.79 and also won the 4x100m relay in 46.49.
  • Lakewood boys likewise put up a fast time, winning the 4x400 with a 3:13.32.
  • The American Heritage boys won the 4x100m relay with a quick 40.49 clocking.

 

Arcadia Invitational, CA

  • Ben Saarel (UT) rolls with a 55.2 last lap to run 8:45.74 to win the Invite 3200m run!! Bernie Montoya (AZ) closes hard for 2nd in 8:47.07.  16 runners got under 9 in this race and 18 total sub-9 performances on the day!  Blake Haney (CA) was 3rd with a quick 8:48.58, Jacob Thomson (KY) was 4th in 8:48.73 and Jack Keelan (IL) was 5th in 8:50.74.  Adam Peterman rolled in the seeded sections of the 3200m run, clocking 8:57.10 for the win over John Lawson who was 2nd in 8:58.19.
  • Sarah Baxter rolled in the girls 3200m run, opening it up over the last three laps to win in 10:08.76.  Anna Maxwell ran a school record 10:10.51 to finish 2nd and Katie Knight wound up third with a great time of 10:11.93.
  • Kaitlyn Merritt cleared an amazing 13-8 in the pole vault to set a new US Soph record!
  • Redondo Union (CA) won the boys DMR with a blazing 10:07.57 clocking.  Dana Hills (CA) got up for 2nd with a time of 10:08.50 and Madera South (CA) finished 3rd in 10:09.42.
  • Deer Valley ran 3:50.50 for the win in the seeded sections of the girls 4x400m.
  • Arianna Washington won the 200m dash with a blazing 23.34 clocking! Kali Davis-White finished 2nd in 23.71 and Ky Westbrook rounded out the top-3 with a quick time of 23.87.
  • Sasha Wallace rolled in the 100 Hurdles with a quick 13.55 clocking.  Sherrelle Jordan was 2nd with a time of 13.74.
  • Long Beach Poly won the sprint medley relays with the boys running 1:33.22 and the girls hitting a time of 1:44.73.
  • Redondo Union girls ran a fine 9:09.74 to win the Invite 4x800 relay by 10 seconds.
  • Courtney Corrin, just a freshman, won the long jump with a nice leap of 20-02.25.
  • Loyola won a great battle in the boys Invite 4x800 relay with a time of 7:44.13.  Rocky Mountain was 2nd in 7:44.46 and Dana Hills was 3rd in 7:45.10.  
  • Boyd Anderson won the 4x200m relay over Long Beach Wilson 1:37.87 to 1:39.85.
  • Ky Westbrook won the 100m dash with a quick 11.50 clocking to just edge Kali Davis-White in 11.51.
  • Khalfani Muhammad won the boys 100m dash in a time of 10.46.
  • Eugene Hamilton III won the 800m run with a time of 1:50.19 over Chris Ibarra in 1:50.30, blazing!
  • Marcus Chambers won the 400m dash with a quick 46.62 clocking while Shamier Little won the girls race with a fast 54.49 clocking.
  • Shea Martinez won the girls mile in 4:52.39 over Megan Beauchene in 4:53.19 for 2nd.  Martinez also won the 800m run in 2:09.26 over Courtney Clayton in 2:09.30.

 

Mobile Challenge of Champions, AL

  • Marlon Humphrey (Hoover) won the 110H in a time of 13.30 and the 300H in a meet record time of 35.60.
  • Devin King cleared a meet record 17-3 in the pole vault with Dylan Duvio 2nd in 17-00.
  • Cameron Luper took flight in the long jump with a leap of 24-06.50 and won the 200m run with a quick 21.07 clocking.
  • Cory Hamilton (Parkway) won the 400m dash with a time of 47.77.
  • Kendall Williams won the 100H in 13.61 and the high jump in 5-07 and took the long jump with a fine 19-07.25 jump.
  • Madison Heath cleared 13-00 in the pole vault to take the win.
  • Carmen Carlos won the 1 mile run with a quick 4:51.75 clocking.
  • Marcquita Stalbert won the 200m dash with a time of 23.85.

 

Colonial Relays, VA

  • LaSalle (PA) won the DMR with a time of 10:17.77 over Germantown Friends in 10:21.54.  LaSalle then won the 4x800m relay on Saturday with a time of 7:56.69.
  • Henderson girls won the 4x800m relay with a time of 9:32.93.

 

Atlantic Coast Spring Break Invite, VA

Highlights

  • Western Branch senior and Penn State University recruit Byron Robinson clocked a a US #1 time of 53.45 in the 400 meter hurdles on day one of the Atlantic Coast Spring Break Invitational in Suffolk, Virginia. Coming off an indoor season with best times of 1:04.37 in the 500 meter dash and 34.32 in the 300 meter dash, Robinson was pushed to the national leading time by Booker T. Washington's Rodney Johnson, who had a runner-up performance of 54.01, which ranks him #3 in the nation currently.
  • US top 10 performances were also recorded in the girls 400 meter hurdles by Great Bridge's Heather Smith and Bayside's Summer Walter. Neither hurdler improved upon their PR's, but a great battle nonetheless between the returning VA 3A 300 meter hurdles state champ Smith (1st, 1:04.32) and the New Balance Nationals pentathlon All-American Walter (2nd, 1:04.97).
  • Davon Grayson of King's Fork improved by a dramatic margin over 2 feet with his leap of 23'4" in the long jump on Friday at Lakeland High School to move the senior Grayson to the top of the Virginia state leaderboard.
  • New state leading times were produced for both boys and girls in the 1600 meter sprint medley relays by the Western Branch boys at 3:37.42 and the Phoebus girls at 4:22.56.
