Two added to Furman Elite Mile

Northwestern graduate Brandon Hudgins (Winthrop sophomore) is entered in the Furman Invitational Elite Mile on April 7, according to event director Mickey McCauley.

McCauley received word from Hudgins' coach Ben Paxton about the commitment.

"Brandon is a sophomore at Winthrop University and former S.C. prep champ in the 1600-meters (4:16.51, 2005) from Northwestern High School," said McCauley. "He ran 4:12 in the Akron (Ohio) Open last weekend indoors. Brandon has a lot of talent and could be the next (S.C.) runner to go under 4 minutes later in his running career."

"This is shaping up to be a real good field as long as all stay healthy."
