RICHMOND, Va. - Freshman Alex Lucking of the University of Richmond men's cross country team was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Lucking, a freshman from Greer, S.C., competed in his first collegiate race for Richmond this past weekend at the Adidas Longwood University Invitational. Lucking finished third for the Spiders, placing fifth overall, with a time of 16:09.

The Spiders return to action Saturday, October 3, when they travel to Notre Dame for the Notre Dame Invitational. Start time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
