My trip to San Juan, Puerto Rico was great. It was the best experience I had all season.
We ate good every day, and the motel was nice. I think we where at the best motel in Puerto rico. When I stepped off the plane the sun was blazing, but I already knew I was going to have a great time. My trainer and coaches where great. I got along with all of my teammates really fast.
The food there was better than I thought it was going to be. They had this one type of rice called Coco rice, it was the best. I also had some milkshakes from there. The milkshakes where high but great.
Puerto Rico's ocean water is the best. At first I wasn't really excited about getting in, but I really don't think anyone can withstand looking at everyone enjoy themselves.
In that warm beautiful water. The water was great! The rain there was weird; it rained off and on for like 10 minutes. When we went to the rainforest I saw why it rained like that. The rainforest was beautiful, but the weird thing is I saw no animals. I did see a snail though, and there was some bird sounds throughout the forest, but no birds.
Track practice was exciting. I think some of our opponents where out practicing with us too.
That gave everyone a chance to show off there skills.
On meet day it was super hot, and humid. I was real relaxed. I warmed up at least six times before my race. I had a good sweat going on before the race,
Well of course because of the hot sun. When I finished in fourth (110-meter hurdles) I was kind of upset, but when my coach told me the time I felt accomplished. Plus racing with boys in there 20's, and out of college or either in college. Knowing that made me more relaxed throughout the entire meet.
It was a Wonderful track meet though.
It was a great day! Great place! Great people!
My week in Puerto Rico was a tremendous experience. That meet made me mentally ready for any other meet that comes up, big or small.
NSSF, thanks you for everything! My time in Puerto Rico was GREAT!!!
