Mauldin senior Alyssa Kulik led the Mavericks to the team title in the girls invitational race at the second annual Providence Invitational in Charlotte. Kulik covered the McAlpine Park course in 18:48, the only runner under 19 minutes.
Second across the line for the Mavericks was Hannah Morgan in fourth place (20:16).
Mauldin, fifth in preseason Nike Team Nationals southeast rankings, tallied 39 points over host Providence (94 points). Mauldin captured the team title in 2006.
