Sisk Sets High Goals for Senior Campaign

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Tiffany Sisk has won two conference championships, set numerous school records and will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the best throwers in College of Charleston track and field history. On Friday, Sisk will have another opportunity to cement her legacy when she heads north to Boston, to take part in the ECAC Indoor Championship.

While many of her teammates will be participating in the sixth-annual Palmetto Classic – a home-hosted meet at the Park West track and field facility in Mount Pleasant – Sisk will be lining up for her final indoor competition in the maroon and white.

“Knowing this is my last season at The College makes me feel realize how this team has come over the past four years,” said Sisk. “But with that being said, it also provides a sense of urgency and my goals this season are pretty clear: I'd like to win the conference in the outdoor season. And although I prefer outdoor to indoor, the ECAC Championship is still important to me and I'd like put forth a good performance in Boston.”

Reflecting on her time in the low country, Sisk – a native of Easley S.C. – remains nostalgic for Southern Conference competition, but says the conference realignment helped improve the team's camaraderie.

“As a freshman competing in the SoCon, you kind of got to know everyone and there was a sense of familiarity among the competition,” said Sisk. “When we moved to The Colonial, we didn't know anyone other than our teammates and I think that helped bring us together in some ways.”

In the field, Sisk didn't miss a beat. After winning the outdoor championship in the shot put as a freshman, Sisk repeated the feat at the Colonial Athletic Association Championships last season, hitting a mark of 14.08 meters on her sixth and final throw.

Reflecting on the moment, Sisk says smiling: “Last throw, best throw.”

And while Sisk would like to perform well on Friday, her main focus this season is on betterment of the team as a whole.

“For the team, I just hope that all of my teammates are able to give 100% and compete at their absolute best,” said Sisk. “If we all do that, I'll be happy. Either way, when the season is over, I'll miss my teammates and my coaches most and I know that I'll look back on my time here fondly.”

Last throw, best throw.
