Saluki freshman Raven Saunders was in a familiar position at Hayward Field on Thursday night at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. With one throw left and out of first place, the indoor NCAA shot put champion unleashed a new SIU, MVC and American Junior record throw of 18.35m (60-02.50) to complete the indoor-outdoor sweep of the NCAA shot put titles and one of the most extraordinary days in Saluki track and field history.
