Why Malik Epps chose Clemson

What made you decide to commit to Clemson?
The engineering program is what played a big role on my decision.  I've always wanted to be a Computer Science major and Clemson is the best place for that. Athletically, Clemson's program is improving dramatically and they have a chance to be a very very great program in the ACC.  I want to be a part of that.

What were your other top choices?
Kansas State, South Carolina, and Mississippi State.

What do you hope to achieve in academics and athletics?
Athletically, I want to be best runner I can be in the ACC/NCAA.  Academically, I want to get my undergraduate in Computer Science and hopefully my Masters.

Do you know what events you will focus in college?
Primarily the middle distance (800-mile) and cross country.

What did you experience during each visit?
My experience/visit at Clemson was great. I met a lot of runners on the team and the team were pretty cool to hangout with.

What would you recommend to others when choosing a college?
Take your time, relax, and don't rush it.

What does it feel like to have the decision made?
It feels great knowing that I'll be Tiger Town soon.

What do you hope to achieve this spring?
I'm looking to see the hard work and training I've been doing pay off this season.

Looking at your career at Byrnes, what will you remember the most?
My team, coaches, and all athletic and academic staff at Byrnes.

What individuals in your life were involved in helping you make the decision?

My family, coaches, and definitely my Uncle.
