What does it mean to be named to the Shrine Bowl Run team and helping
the hospital?
It provides me an opportunity to help my community and better myself.  It also gives me one last chance to go out and run with some of the fastest seniors in the state.

What did you hear about the Shrine Bowl Run before this year?
All I knew was it was an event for elite seniors.

What do you hope to experience during The Run?
I just want to have a good time and enjoy the last part of my cross country journey.

How are you preparing to run with a football?
I've been going to the gym for two months to prepare for this.

How would you rate your senior season?
10/10.

What future goals do you have?
Attain an undergraduate degree and then hopefully a graduates degree.

Have you made the decision to compete at the next level? Please explain.
No, I'm looking to focus my time on my academics and get the best grades I can in college.

How did you get involved with the sport and when?
In fifth grade, I ran a mile time trial with my school and I realized I had a talent for running when I came in close to the front with not much training.

Do you have any relation or know someone that has attended the
Shriners Hospital?
Yes our school, Wade Hampton High School, hosted Shriners Hospital for our spirit week in my junior year.  Being on student council, I was able to meet a lot of these kids while fundraising for them and it means a lot to be able to support this hospital again.

How have you seen the
sport change in the state? Please explain.
I've seen more advanced metrics, gear, shoes, watches, workouts, etc.  But at the end of the day running is still running and the end goal is always the same.

What was your motivation for your final XC season?
Bringing up a young team at Wade Hampton and making one last return to state.

If there is one thing in the world you could do, what would it be and why?
I would help everyone find a passion as I found with running because with passion comes hard work which can carry over to everything else in your life.

One last race for Lucas Wall
