CHARLESTON, S.C - The College of Charleston men's and women's cross country teams placed second at The Citadel Invitational on Saturday at the James Island County Park in Charleston.
For the women, Erin Stoddard was the top finisher on the day, placing third in a time of 19:18. Callen Powers finished eighth in 19:39, while teammate Becky Stewart finished right behind Powers in ninth position. Alyssa D'Orazio rounded out the top women's finishers on the day for the Cougars placing 15th in a time of 19:59.
For the men, Trevor Sprague was the top finisher, placing third in a time of 26:33. David Thomas ran the 8K course 26:47 to finish fifth, while Christian Bailey finished seventh in a time of 26:59. Kelly Toomes rounded out the top finishers on the day, placing 18th in a time of 27:55.
The Cougars return to action on Oct. 2nd at the Charlotte Invitational.
