What was your most memorable race/competition?
My most memorable race was this year's state cross country race. I ran a 30 sec PR and my team came from behind in the second half of the race to win our division.

How have you handled the suspension of the 2020 outdoor season?
It was really hard at first because I felt like I was in the best shape of my life and was about to run some big PR's, but right now I'm just focusing on staying healthy and getting ready for my first year of college cross country

If you could do it all over again, what would you change about your athletic career in high school?
I would never have taken a break from running. I started running in 6th grade, and loved it but played football and baseball for the rest of middle school. I didn't come back to running until my freshman year and looking back now I wish I had had those extra seasons with my teammates.

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?
The most difficult obstacle I've had to overcome was a stress fracture during cross country season last year. I had to take almost two months off from running, but cross trained through it and still had a decent end of the season

What will you miss the most?
I'll definitely miss the easy runs with the guys on the XC team the most.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?
Just to work hard year in and year out and enjoy it.

How have your coaches influenced your performances and your life goals?
My coaches have had a huge impact on me, encouraging me to work hard in all aspects of my life.

What kind of impact did your family have on your time as a high school student-athlete?
My family has always been super supportive of my athletics and they've helped me stay motivated and helped me through both the good and bad times.

What are your college or post-high school plans?
I'm going to be competing for Mercer University next year, and I'm going to be majoring in engineering.

What do you hope to achieve after high school?
I hope to go to medical school and become a surgeon.

Do you see yourself coaching in the future? Please explain and if so, what level and why?
I can definitely see myself possibly coaching high school in the future. I love the sport and after seeing the impact my coaches have had on my life, it just seems like a really cool job.

Shout-outs?
My whole family who have been so supportive and encouraging. All of my cross country and track coaches, specifically Coach Fisher and Coach Hamner. And I really want to thank God for how He's blessed me through this sport.

If there is one thing in the world you could do, what would it be and why?
If there was one thing in the world I could do, I would be an orthopedic surgeon because I want to become a doctor and I think it would be really cool to work with athletes and sports injuries.
