*Jaylen Boudreaux, Kaniya Jonson and Noah Ward three of the top performances of the weekend from the SCHSL Championships

It's championship season, and the athletes who competed at the South Carolina High School League State Track and Field Championships this weekend didn't disappoint.
There were a handful of top performances throughout the five classifications.
We deliver a handful of the best ones below:
* Jaylen Boudreaux ran a US No. 1 performance in the 400mH

Jaylen Boudreaux, the junior from Cane Bay, earned two individual state titles in his first appearance at the 5A SCHSL State Track and Field Championships.
In the 110mH, he improved on his state-leading time to 14.19 (+1.1) and moved up to US No. 21. He wasn't the first sprinter to the first hurdle, but he slowly made up ground. By the fifth hurdle, he was ahead of the rest of the field and continued to increase his lead.

Later, he ran away with the 400mH as he made up the stagger on the rest of the field on the backstretch. He came off the final turn and blasted the final 100m and became US No. 1 with a new personal best of 52.16.
In the final race of the day, Boudreaux anchored Cane Bay in the 4x400m. He got the baton more than 30m back of the leader. He aggressively moved up from third to second with 200m left to go. On the final bend, Boudreaux passed Dorman and he was all gas down the homestretch. Boudreaux anchored a 48.1 split to bring Cane Bay the state title home.

* Kaniya Johnson ran a 23.58 to win the 5A SCHSL 200m state title

On the girls side, sprinter Kaniya Johnson ran two personal bests in the 100m and 200m in order to solidify the victory.
After 20m, no one was able to catch her in the 100m. The White Knoll junior crossed the finish line four-tenths of a second ahead of four seniors to grab the title in 11.53 (+1.5) and to defend her title from 2019. This moves her up to US No. 4 in this event.
Her 200m race didn't look any different.
After placing second as a freshman, Johnson had to be determined to grab the victory in this event.
She blasted out of the blocks and made up the stagger on the rest of the field at the top of the turn. She continued to pump her arms the last 100m and sprinted to a 23.58 into a -0.5 wind. Johnson's performance ranks her US No. 7.

Two runners made the top leaderboard in the 1,600m over the weekend from the SCHSL State Track and Field Championships.
Harvard signee and Philip Simmons senior Noah Ward shaved 7.89 off his previous best time of the year. In the 2A classification, he won his third consecutive 1,600m title in 4:06.41. His efforts drastically moved him up to US No. 7.
Ward also won the 800m in 1:56.10 and the 3,200m in 9:54.60.
In Class 4A, Sam Rich of Catawba Ridge ran a 4:10.53 personal best to climb to US No. 29 on the leader board in the 1600m.
Rich also won the 3,200m in 9:19.67, which was his third-fastest time of the season.

Other Note-Worthy Performances:
- Chance Black of Dorman leaped to a US No. 8 triple jump of 48-02.50. He won his first 5A state title after placing fourth two years ago.
- It was a tight battle between T.L Hanna's Jeremiah Hudson and Northwestern's Channing Ferguson in the long jump. Hudson won the 5A state title by a half of an inch over Ferguson's 22-10.5 best.
- Tacoya Heyward jumped 18-6 to win the 4A state title in the long jump. The Bluffton freshman moved up to US No. 48.
- In the boy's 5A javelin competition, Caleb Walker, the Wando senior, threw 194-2 to win the state title and to be ranked US No. 21 in this event.
- Jayla Jamison won three individual state titles in the sprint events. She clocked an 11.77 into a -3.2 in the 100m. The Airport senior also won the 200m in 24.87 (-0.6) and finished the 400m in 56.43.
- Nigel Ancrum of Spring Valley won the 100m and 200m 5A state titles as a sophomore. He clocked a 10.60 (+1.1) and a 21.30 (+0.6).
- Sophomore Brianna Rodriguez of Westwood earned her first set of gold medals at the 4A state championship. She crossed the finish line first in the 100mH in 15.12. She set a personal best in the 400mH with a 1:02.15, which is US No. 6.
- In the triple jump, Hillcrest's Keiran Martin triple jumped 38-6 to tie for US No. 31.
