SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Wofford freshman Andrea Kelsey and Appalachian State senior Whitney Smyre have been named the Southern Conference Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week for all meets January 7-9. The selections are made by the league’s track and field coaches.

Kelsey, a freshman from Kettering, Ohio, broke the Wofford school record in the 3000 meter run at the Clemson Invitational with a time of 10:38, despite coming to a complete stop with one lap remaining after the bell lap sounded early. She also split 5:20 for the mile in the distance medley relay, helping the Terriers claim second place in the event.

The Terriers return to action January 22 when they travel to the Niswonger Invitational hosted by ETSU.
