Cougars Boast Strong Team Performance at Duke Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. - College of Charleston men's cross country recorded several strong marks to rewrite school history books on the final day of the Duke Invitational at Wallace Wade Stadium.

Junior Trevor Sprague (Dunwoody, Ga./St. Pius X Catholic) reclaimed the school record in the 3,000 meters while leading a pack of four Cougars. His time of 8:44.71 is six seconds faster than sophomore Christian Bailey's (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) record-breaking time at the Shamrock Invitational.

Bailey finished the 10,000 meters in 31:59.20 to give him an eighth-place finish out of 28 runners. His time is the second-fastest in school history, just six seconds behind his own school record in the event.

Charleston competes in its final meet of the spring season on Apr. 10 when the team travels to Charlotte, N.C. for the Johnson C. Smith University Invitational.
