Greer Girls Capture Third Consecutive State Title

Following a showdown that ended with Greer and Daniel\'s No. 6 runner the Yellow Jackets captured their third consecutive girl\'s state cross country title on Nov. 6 in Columbia, 62-62 over the Lions in 3A girl\'s action.

Blue Ridge boy\'s captured their second consecutive state title, the 2003 title as a 2A team and this year as a 3A team over Wade Hampton. Daniel senior Exley McCormick captured his first individual title over Blue Ridge senior Bryan Stoner.

Daniel\'s Stephanie Gammon, a sophomore, won the individual title following a third place finish in 2003.

First in for Greer was senior Raye Lin Chappell placed fourth overall in the 3A girl\'s classification with teammate Taylor Hughes making the top five.

Chapin teammates Amber Hines and Ashlyn Ruczko finished second and third overall, respectively as Chapin rounded out the top three in the team placing.
