Cross Country Holds First Practices

CLINTON, S.C. - The Presbyterian College men's and women's cross country teams reported to campus on Monday night. The first practice was delayed due to a scattered shower, but the team was able complete its fitness test on Tuesday morning. After a midday break, the team met again to have a recovery run around the town of Clinton.

"I was very pleased with how the team performed this morning," said head coach Thad Palmer. "The rain definitely affected us mentally, but we recovered to have a good showing. All the freshmen exceeded my expectations for the fitness test."

The Blue Hose have six new faces combined with 10 returning lettermen. The teams will be led by seniors Adam Harris and Nicholas Baer and junior Stephanie Newell.

The first cross country race of the season will be the Eye Opener hosted by USC Upstate at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C. on Saturday, Sept. 4. at 8:00 a.m.
