ORANGEBURG, SC – The SC State women's cross country team finished fourth and the men seventh at the eight-team Coastal Carolina Invitational Friday at Conway, SC.
Junior Brittney Stewart covered the 5K course in 19:22.40 to finish ninth overall among 77 participants in the women's field. Freshman Patavia Lowery was 15th in the field with a time of 19:52.20; senior Patrecia Daniley was 32nd with a time of 21:09.00, and Tamara Smith, another freshman, 40th with a clocking of 21:25.20 a personal record.
In the men's 6K run, junior Charles Kurgatt was the top finisher for SC State as he placed 19th in a field of 63 with a time of 20:21.00. Freshman Aaron Worthy finished 23rd with a time of 20:30.90 and Seymour Walter, also a freshman, was 30th in a time of 20:54.30.
