Seniors Lead Men's Team At Conference Championship

BLACKSBURG, VA. - The Presbyterian College men's cross country team was led by seniors at the 2010 Big South Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning.

Senior Nicholas Baer ran the team's fastest 8k of the season with an improved time of 27:44.  Fellow senior and co-captain Adam Harris finished with a new personal best time of 28:09. Freshman Seth Warner improved on his time from September and crossed the line at 29:55. Freshman Richard Taylor ran 30:06 with fellow freshman Ryan Wasilewski finishing close behind at 30:11. Both Taylor and Wasilewksi were over a minute faster than their previous times on the championship course. Junior Josh Morrisette ran a 8k personal best by 46 seconds and crossed the line at 30:33, nearly two and a half minutes faster than his time in September. Freshman Kevin Quan crossed the line at 34:16 to round out the team.

"I could not ask anymore from these guys," Coach Palmer said after the race. "It seems everyone either set a collegiate best or at least improved from our trip here in September. They have been working hard all season, and it is nice to see everyone finish the year with a smile."

Liberty won the men's championship behind the individual winner Sam Chelanga. The Flames scored 33 points and Chelanga ran an impressive 24:03 to take home runner-of-the-year honors.
