Marshall Meyer, star runner at Hilton Head and alma mater of state cross-country meet record holder David Adams (14:37) will attend and compete in cross-country at Bluffton High starting in August.
Bluffton is a 3A school, while Hilton Head competes in the 4A classification.
Meyer had a 2004 cross-country season best of 16:39, set at the Wendy\'s Invitational in Charlotte. Meyer, a rising junior finished 19th at the state meet in 2004 with a finishing time of 17:25. Meyer\'s 2004 time would have placed him fifth in the 3A event. Returners for the 2005 season ahead of Meyer in the 3A classification is Jonathan Chu of Dreher (17:22) and Austin Walton of Greenville (17:23). Chapin rising sophomore Luke Lovelace rounded out the top five in 17:28.
