Lexington CC Announces Passing of Alumnus Zander Jeffcoat

Lexington cross country and track and field announced Wednesday the passing of alumnus Zander Jeffcoat. Jeffcoat, a 2022 Wildcat graduate, competed in college at Belmont University (Tenn.).

Jeffcoat won the 2020 SCHSL 5A State Cross Country Championships in 15:24. Watch the post-race interview below.

The Lexington programs posted on the social media the following: 

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of former captain and 2020 XC State Champion, Zander Jeffcoat. Zander was a workhorse and could be seen running all throughout the Lexington and Gilbert community during his time here. He enjoyed making his teammates and coaches laugh and would encourage them to pick up the pace with a simple point to the ground. We are thankful for the community who has supported us through this time and send our condolences to the Jeffcoat family."
