This Week's Nominees:
Alex Rose, Chapin (South Carolina): Crossing first in a field of 259 finishers, a 5K time of 15:19.60 at the Heathwood Hall Highlander Invitational held off the runner-up by 12.4 seconds. That clocking sits third among 2,612 athletes in MileSplit's database at Heathwood Hall since 2019, and it cut nearly 100 seconds off a previous mark on this course, an improvement from 16:58.80 to 15:19.60.
David Greer, Summerville (South Carolina): The Creating Waves 5K came down to a 9.6-second margin, with a winning time of 15:47.01 across 87 finishers. That effort sits fifth among 1,201 athletes in MileSplit's database at Summerville since 2019 and edged a previous time on the course by 8.0 seconds.
Finn Powell, Walhalla (South Carolina): Covering 5,000 meters in 16:46.57 at the Region 1-3A Pre-Region Meet was good for a win by 18.1 seconds over a 67-runner field. The performance places 28th among 616 athletes logged at Pickens High School in MileSplit's database since 2019.
Eli Anspach, Academic Magnet (South Carolina): Crossing first among 138 finishers at the Creating Waves 5K, a time of 17:47.14 held off the field by 6.8 seconds. The mark ranks 99th of 1,202 athletes recorded at Summerville in MileSplit's database since 2019.
Brayden Partridge, Socastee (South Carolina): A winning margin of 50.0 seconds accompanied a 5K clocking of 18:22.00 at XC Under the Lights, good for first place among 95 finishers. The time ranks 14th out of 74 athletes in MileSplit's database at Grand Park since 2024, marking a 28.1-second improvement over a prior effort on this course, from 18:50.10 down to 18:22.00.
