Northwestern Alumna Angelina Blackmon Wins UNC Fast Times 800

Northwestern alumna Angelina Blackmon, now a sophomore at N.C. State captured the 800-meter title, running unattached, in 2:15.13.

Blackmon finished ahead of Georgia\'s Kelly Cordell, who ran a 2:19.18. North Carolina\'s Emily Hoffman rounded out the top three in 2:19.62.

During Blackmon\'s senior year at Northwestern, the former Trojan qualified for Footlocker Nationals (2nd, South Regionals), joining Kate Niehaus on the trip to California.

Blackmon holds the fastest 1600-meter time for the 2004 track and field season of 5:02.92 in South Carolina along with holding the second fastest 3200-meter time of 10:52.61. As an eighth grader Blackmon captured the 4A state cross country championship title.

Michael Rhue, a sophomore at Charleston Southern University finished first in the finals of the 400-meters at the Liberty Fast Times meet. Rhue graduated from Ridge View HS in 2004. Rhue\'s 49.04 was a new facility record.

Aiken alumna Michele Milner finished first in the women\'s 3,000-meter run at the Mountaineer Winter Open in 10:52.09. Milner is a junior at Gardner-Webb University (N.C.). Milner\'s teammate Katherine Warden (Dreher HS), also a junior, finished first in the 800-meter event in 2:18.91 in Boone, N.C.
