27 seniors named to Shrine Bowl Run team

COLUMBIA -- Twenty-seven senior distance runners were named to the 2012 Shrine Bowl Run team. 

The run, that starts at the Shriners Hospital in Greenville and finishes at Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, is slated for Dec. 15. 

Runners are chosen based on times from the state meet. The exception is a senior is chosen if he or she wins an individual state title. Senior runners had to apply to be eligible. 

Jerry KImbrell (Dorman) is serving as head coach and Jim Korteba (South Pointe) is assistant. 

Girls: Laura Miller (Mann). Evie Tate (Spartanburg), Georgia Compton (Wando), Melissa Fairey (Wando), Megan Stahlberger (Airport), Caroline Jennings (Christ Church), Brooke Grice (Heathwood Hall), and Lucie Kulze (Academic Magnet). 

Boys: Blake White (Lexington), Chris Stafford (Dutch Fork), Ben Boerma (Wade Hampton), Logan George (Wade Hampton), Lucas Stalnaker (Fort Mill), Eric Wendt (Lexington). Thomas Garrigan (Riverside), Jack Manesiotis (Hilton Head), Andre Ivankovic (Daniel), Nicoleus Putnam (Dreher), Aaron Gambrell (Wren), Matthew Geer (Daniel), Morgan Shaw (Eastside), Zac Long (Eastside), Bradley Hamilton (Daniel), Ross Jordan (Stratford), Christian Ruppe (Fort Mill), Cameron Fowler (Riverside) and Ben Sessions (Greenville Tech).
