Summerville's Anderson runs U.S. no. 1 in Tenn.

Summerville junior Davon Anderson ran a national-leading time of 7.88 in the 60-meter hurdles at the KYA High School Indoor Classic Saturday in Johnson City, Tenn.

Anderson won his preliminaries heat in 8.13 seconds, the second-fastest time going into finals.

The East Tennessee State men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams will compete in the first of two home meets on the year this weekend, as the Buccaneers host the 35th annual Niswonger Invitational at the Mountain States Health Alliance Athletics Center. The two-day event will begin on Friday morning at 10 a.m. with the preliminaries of the women’s 60 hurdles and conclude on Saturday afternoon.
