NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Pendleton alumna Jasmin Stowers (LSU) finished second in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles championship at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at The Armory.
Stowers finished with a time of 8.13 seconds to Nia Ali's (University of Southern California) winning time of 8.06 seconds.
Stowers qualified for the finals of the 60-meter hurdles with a fifth place time of 8.28 seconds. Stowers is a freshman at Louisiana State University.
Seneca alumna LaKya Brookins finished first in the 60-meter dash championship in 7.18 seconds. Brookins finished first in the preliminaries in 7.25 seconds. Her time is a new no. 1 in the nation.
Brookins is a senior at University of South Carolina.
